Citric acid is a weak, organic acid that can be found in citrus fruits. It is an odourless, colourless often used for adding a sour taste to foods and soft drinks. Citric acid is used in household cleaning products and has recently been replacing phosphoric in detergents because it is less harmful on the environment.
